I have a 2004 Prado 5 speed auto delivered mid november and I have noticed that all the windows have defects in the form that the laminate plastic in the windows has spots where it has not bonded between the 2 layers of glass in manufacture I showed this to the selling dealer who agreed with me and they submited it to toyota for work approvel.
Toyota had a rep attend to inspect, he found all windows to be within toyota specification an says the marks are due to normal manufatacting process of glass.
On the same day there was another prado and a kluger with the same complaint.
Has any one had the same expirience and if so to what end!!
I have looked at many other brand and have not seen the same fault, I have aske glassiers how handle glass all the time and they tell me in the glass trade they would clase this as 2ds

Take the cvomplaint back to Toyota head office customer servioce with the name of the dealer and the rep who attended and also the note about two others that also complained. Toyota specs are fine to meet but if they dont meet the customers expectations then they should be doing something!

Bruce,

You have mee a little confused. It is only the windscreen that is laminated. You mention all windows so does that mean you are talking about window tint which would be aftermarket. If so then that is not a Toyota problem but one for the dealer and the window tinter to sort out.

I know they have factory tint but they are not laminated except for the windscreen so that is why I am confused as to what he was saying.

I have a friend that had that in one window of a 2002 Jackaroo Equipe ... no argument from the dealer, they replaced the glass and re did the window tinting.

He had to wait a bit for the replacement window to arrive, but it was replaced.

Yes ... a Holden dealer!
