Where would I be likely to find the best prices for good quality simple hand held GPS units in Brisbane? Not interested in the unknown brands sold by the likes of Supa Cheap. I'm after say a Garmin or similar quality brand. Thanks.

Moose,
I shopped around awhile back and the boat shops had the keenest prices. Ended up picking up a Megellan from Northside Marine on Sandgate Rd. Virginia

Cheers,
Graham

Plus they actually have a clue in that shop verses the brochure-ware sales people in other shops.

EBAY - but certain dealers

I got mine, and about 6 others now from USA, for less than 1/2 the price in Aussie.

Magellan Meridians Colours too..

G'day Truckster
When you say less than half is that after taking into account all costs?
What was the source?
What's special about the Meridians (apart from colour screens)?

Is your source a secret? If not how about divulging a name, internet address - whatever so others can get in on this too!
How long did you have to wait from order to delivery?
I guess the only downside is warranty.

Or you could support the site that you asked the question on. We sell several GPS units and all the associated equipment, software and features you need. Visit the GPS section of ExplorOz. If there is something you are after that is not shown we have access to over 400 units & accessories so just drop Juliana an email or give us a call 08 9403 3737.

G'day David
With respect I need to watch the dollars (like most others I suspect) and your price on the unit I was looking at is significantly dearer (20%) than what I could buy it from a normal retailer here in Brisbane. I realise that you don't just sell GPSs and thus are at a volume buying disadvantage however that's a big discrepancy (and then I imagine I'd have to pay postage etc as well). As floyd has indicated you'll need to sharpen your prices to compete.

Hi Moose,

What product were you looking at? How much was it and where was it from?

I will look into this for you once I hear from you.

By the way,

If you were a member, you would get 5% of your product total to spend next time you were in the shop.

Regards,
Juliana.
