Is there a Battery Maintenance (eg Projector 3500) that can be used on Deep Cycle Batteries. I looked at the 3500 but they are only work on CC Batteries.

Nobby,

It depends on your type of deep-cycle battery ie wetcell, gel etc.If you are in no rush, the size[current] of the charger can be small [Ah/10]. I use a Hi-tech 15A from Bainbridge Technology; its a 3 stage charger with Equalisation mode[useful for wetcells]; the type of battery setting is done with DIP switches.

I suggest you look around for an 8A 3-stager as minimum for maintaining 1 battery.

cheers

Thanks for the reply. We have two 115a Trojans in Parallel so would probably need the heavy duty model. Any idea how much they cost (Approx)?

I think about $385 from Springers..this one has the option of up to 3 batteries[obviously the same model] I am not sure if this is just a convenience thing or there is isolation involved.

It is manufactured in France by Tec-Sup...have a Google

cheers

Hi Nobby,

Have a look at "projecta.com.au" , they have a 12v, 15amp, 3 stage battery charger suitable for 80 to 300amphr batteries. They are below $300 but you need to look around for a good price.
