16" or 17" Tyres

Hi,
New Patrols are being released with 17" Tyres, how common are 17" replacemnt tyres outside the major cites.
I have a camper trailer the has 16" Nissan steel rims with a spare..........
Lets say I get two blow outs on the 17" Patrol tyres while outback, I have two spares one 17", one 16" is it a problem to put the different size rims on.....i'm guessing yes?
I'm guessing it wouldn't be too bad if I rotated them so they remained in pairs.
It would be a PITA to rotate the 16" onto the car but it could be done.

I couldn't see a prob putting a 16" rim as long as the tyre on it had the same rolling diameter as the 17" tyre.

local bob jane tyre outlet advised there is a total of only 3 tyres on the market to suit 17 inch patrols and goodyear mtr not available in 17 inch so virtually no offroad tyres available in this size certainly not away from major cities

Oodnadatta there are some new and secondhand tyres available ... let's check 17" ... absolutely nothing!! Just don't get a flattie!!

So when I come up there in June in my 120 Prado with 17" wheels you will be advising me no doubt to have a second 17" spare!
Gotta love progress. Now a few Patrol owners will start to go through what Prado owners have been experiencing for a while.
How wide are the Patrol tyres? Prado are 265mm and I am running 265/70R17 Cooper A/T's. Would be great if the release of the 17" on the Patrol put pressure on the tyre companies to update thier ranges which might make more tyres available for my car.
Bring on the 17 inch MTR's!!!

My father just blew a 17" tyre in the middle of the wa desert!
It took him 4 shops to find a new tyre.
Bad luck if you have a new landrover discovery with 18" tyres!!!
