Hi all

We have our van now permanently set up on our property. We spend days at a time in it while we are planning on where the house will go. We get stinky after a couple of days without washing a few clothes. We have had the hand-driven machines, and while they're good, we're looking for something a little more automatic.

My question is has anyone ever had one of the little 2.2kg Lemair washing machines that apparently run of no more than a 300w modified sine wave inverter? Wash cycle chews 240-odd watts and the spin about 270 watts. This is pretty damn good.......

What did you pay for it? I've seen prices between $240 and $390 for the same machine.

Cheers
Chris

Chris,

Don't know about their washing machines but about 10 years ago I was looking for a cheap second hand freezer. I looked at a second hand 290L Lemair for about $150 and I was advised "don't buy that cheap Russian bleep , it doesn't last"

Don't know how old it was when we bought, but 10 years on it is still going strong.

Cheers,

Jim.

hehe... you can strike it lucky sometimes Jim! I had a Lemair appliance years ago (I can't even remember what it was - probably one of the larger washing machines - or maybe even a heater... but I remember that it (by the brand) never failed us. Go the Ruskies!

Great bit of kit.
Made in Russia
Paid $289.00 Retrovision, Shepparton.
Somedays we need to do two loads.
2.2kg is small.
Would not hesitate to buy another.

Same applies to the Russian built SW radios around 30-40 years ago.
Seems they are overengineered & many still going. Werre rubbished at the time but were cheap for such a quality radio.
Anyone got a 2nd hand LadaNiva, woo, just joking!

Ahhh... the Niva. Probably the worlds most under-rated 4WD ever. I actually wouldn't mind one to knock about the property in - and for the shopping run into Cooma. Quite cool I think.

Lada Niva,

I owned one of those once as well.

But only once and for a short time.

Didn't serve me near as well as the Lemair Freezer.

Possibly the worst vehicle ever built, and I've owned pleny.

Cheers,

Jim

Chrispy,
Myself and 2 friends bought one each around Xmas last year. 1st one was bought thru thos Good Blokes at Campbelltown for $270. We and our other friends bought ours from the same franchise here in N'cle for same price.

We used them on 240V power at a caravan park we stayed at over Xmas/New Year and they worked a real treat. Wouldn't be without one now.

Regards
