Well on the w/e i saw some very impressive gear, was up at the Southern 80, on the murray of course, had an awesome little jetty at our campsite where we all were, so we could sit right on the water, or in the boats and watch the big monsters fly past, gota say a boat doing 115-120 MPH 20 ft away is mighty impressive.

Well about 3rd boat in got just around the corner and we heard it die, small time later it drifts back around with the lads sitting on the bow with the oar, so we throw out a ski rope and bring em in to tie up, so for the rest of the race we talked with these guys and fed em some refreshing ales. So What happened ? the gearbox in the leg let go :-( Engine fine.

Well the engine was a very nice chev 496 big block, with twin turbos and a huge water/air intercooler, running 21 psi boost for a nice little 1350 horsepower.

What a weapon, apart from servicing it hasnt needed a spanner and has been raced hard since 1999 all over.

Just the thing for Erics patrol project, whata ya reckon.

Bradley,

Sounds like a huge engine. You have to ask yourself could Eric handly the power?

Anyway lets not give him any more ideas. The car is fully sick enough.

yeah, your're not wrong, they love a drink, This boat did have a 400lt fuel tank !! with ballast tanks that they could fill as the race went on.

is ptrool getting twin garretts like this baby had ? damn they were big (looked about the same as a trust t88) with a 50mm external wastegate on each side. Talk about hill climbing torque --yeah baby....

im thinking about slinging a toyo blower off the cressida on my jack, what do you reckon ? know anyone in melb who handles import parts thats any good ?

cheers mate

nice, dunno about the mitsu, but a few mobs make kits for the jacks using the internal bypass eaton twin lobes (alpine developments, capa etc) central mounted on new manifold etc. costs about 6k though :-((
i'm thinking of mounting the toyo job between the airbox and stock throttle body with some custom pipes. Similar to the kits for v6 commys (hadfield CRS) but i only want about 4 psi, cant be fagged intercooling it if i do it.

thanks mate
