Got the GME 3400 today, instsalled it this arvo. Got the 4.5db aerial. So far i think its fantastic. I went for the 4.5 db aerial as we spent lot of time in the high country. I also got the dealers program to do the extra channels and have the local
police tuned in.
Will this 4.5 suit for most things??

Crazie,
Sounds like a good set up to me.
Mid range db gain aerial will work
well in the High Country.
Because of the diffrent
places that I travel, I have two areial mounting points. One on the bullbar, for the High Country and timber country, and the other on the roof rack for the Desert and open country.
This way I only need the one areial to cover all of the trips that I do.

I use a 3.5db on a "Z" bracket on the bonnet (no bullbar). I find it works supurb around town (better than my 6db) and on the open road I get still very good coverage, probally about 1-2kms short of the BIG ASS 9db's some of the other guys use. Height's the main thing, every cm in height makes a difference. I reckon you'll have no dramas with the 4.5, you'll get all the range you'll need in convey and 4wd situations over a wide range of terrain.
