Blue,
The initial link was incorrect - an easy error.
It sent you to:
http://http//www.news.com.au/poll/1,10091,-1242,00.html
which needs theremoved before the www.news etc before it will work. By removing simply one of thewon't fix it.
I imagine you are seeing the page that defaults to Microsoft.com when there is an addressing error. I'm running a Mac, so can't replicate what you're seeing. When you initially click on a bad link, look at what is in the addressing bar at the top and the answer is often there if you get familiar with what you need to look for. You may be able to change the incorrect addressing before the browser wanders off to Mama Microsoft. It'd be much more helpful if an error message popped up and invited you to change the incorrect address. That's what happens on my Mac using Safari browser anyway - one of the reasons why people say Mac's are easier/more friendly I guess.

Blue,
This site got the better of me. I put some brackets in my previous post which promptly removed the text.
What I meant to say was: ...
which needs the http// removed before the www.news etc before it will work. By removing simply one of the http won't fix it as the correct code needs to be http:// then the www bit.

But Jeff, there will be another poll in 2 days.
Every site that has a poll running currently, has had more than 5 polls each in the last 12 mths on 4wds.
We win everyone of them. yet they wont take the hint, but wait until we lose one, that minute will be the beginning of the end, Which IMHO has already begun.

Thanks Tim, I'm using Mozilla instead of IE (far more stable) so was suprised that I got shipped off to Microsoft. When I click on a link, the info comes up on the bottom left corner. No error, just instantly listed Microsoft.com as the search destination. If I had my way I'd have a Mac, work pulls the strings on this one though so I must put up or shut up.

I just voted on that site and the NO vote is ahead.
GOOD.. Stick it right up 'em !!!
Most people who are complaining seem to be targeting the mums that drop the kiddies off to school in the landcruisers. Are they just jealous they don't have the money or the gumption to own one themselves ?
(ps truckster, hows that hitch?)

Also "Australia Talks Back" today on ABC Radio National after 5 or 6pm news is devoted to this subject.
You can stream it later if you miss it. I think they keep their programmes on line for a month or thereabouts

Hey Truckster,
The anti- 4wd cancer is spreading. In yesterdays
Brisbane courier mail there were a couple of letters supporting the North
Sydney mayors decisions. I dare say there will be more in the coming days. The time has come for the 4wd industries ( manufactureres, dealers , clubs and etc ) to start the counter offensive otherwise they will loose the battle!!!!!!!!
Regards Salty.
