If you start from the terrigal end of the watagan moutains you come accross the first set of power lines about ten km in.

Just wondering if anyone has tried to go the track to left of the main road That follows the power lines down the valley. Any pictures available. I was just wondering what sort of gear they had or isnt it as bad as it looks.

Brad i have done this on a bike and there are some sections where you would be winching in a 4x4 it is pretty rutted and has some pretty big errosion humps and steep, of coarse it also depends on wet or dry, i'd say min would be to have two 4x4 and have a winch on at least one vehicle good tyres and 2' lift and a lot of recovery gear.

Sorry no pix.

Maybe you should ask this question on one of the 4x4 forum into serious 4 wheeling like 4x4 Patrol or Overlander or Outerlimits.

Baz.

Brad,

I've done the track I think you are talking about. It's called Powerline and is fairly steep with a tight hairpin. The area down the bottom is fairly chewed up.

Heres the link to the Overlander trip report:-
