help with tyres

has anybody used good year wrangler MT/R are they noisy on rd .look to have good side walls any other brands will be useing 15in safe driveing mal

I have just fitted a set of 32. 11.50.15 MTRs They are noisier than the Cooper STs I had on previously yet not as noisy as expected. They ride harshly as the sidewalls are very strong. I run them at 28 lb cold after much experimenting with pressures. These are a serious offroad tyre and you would want to be doing a lot of offroad to justify fitting them. For the record the Cooper STs are still the best all round tyre I have used. Cheers Rob

Would you recommend the Wranglers (as a second set expressly for off-road purposes)?
I was planning on BFG M/T's but am open to other recommendations.

thanks for the advice re the MTRs i just fitted a 160 lt tank to my 80 series and was looking for a stronger (15 in ) side wall tyre to carry the weight .does not matter how good your
suspension is it still gets down to tyres and the ammount of air inside.hope to be up your way next year or so, will look you up safe driveing MAL

G'day Mal, just finished working on a station in the N.T where the rocks were that bad you cringed every time you had to drive anywhere, anyway all the station vehicles used rag tyres but the local Aboriginal community (
pigeon hole) had a vehicle with MTRs on and they had only 1
puncture since they bought/given them. If you've ever seen where and how the blackfellas drive you know what im getting at. Anyhow I was so impressed with that our Troopys booked in next week for a new pair of MTR shoes all round.
