Gaday Steve, we drove the
Warburton track last year shortly after it was reopened due to the wet. I believe the closure note on the map was due to issues with the pastoral owner which have since been sorted out. There certainly wasn't a sign indicating no access. The track passes through some interesting country & is a great option for accessing the Desert.
Cheers Craig.............

The SA Desert Parks Bulletin of 24 January (last issue) says its open. People were using it last September unofficially - it was due to be graded and opened a month or two after that.
There is a roads page at VKS737.on.net - SA Desert Parks Bulletin link in there will get their current advice at any time.
Also, give
John and Genevieve Hammond a buzz at the Mungerannie Roadhouse. They would undoubtedly know at any stage of the year.

The first 80km of the
Warburton Track was declared a Public Access Route a couple of years ago. This resolved the pastoralist's issues, so that it is now maintained by the SA State Govt.
PAR list

Hi Steve
I passed by there at the end of September last year after it had been reopened after severe flooding.
As stated it is a Public Access Route, maintained(or not maintained) by the SA Government. Of course it crosses pastoral properties so venturing off the road is not on.
There is a nice
camp site at Minkie
Waterhole(no facilities) 9km from
Innamincka away from the crowds.
