Auto conversion

Has anyone heard of or know of putting 80Ser auto into HZJ75 ute.

Utemech, sounds like a NO from the deafening silence.

I took the liberty of posting your question on 70scool as well. Got a response from Norm to say he's done it on 47series, and had to do lots of mods because the autos were a fair bit wider than the manuals.

Yes it can be done either way. Auto to man or man to autoin the 70 and 80 #
Make sure you use the original flywheel for that particular box.
You may need to dress out the bell housing arch on left hand side.
Rear cross member will need to move but holes are already in the chassis

There are 3 different types of auto used in the 80 # Iwould suggest that the early hydraulic box is the best option as it does not require an ECU to drive it.
it would also be a help if you get the drive shafts from the donor truck
I have not done a 70# for a few years but had done a few 80 # in the last few years
Would also help if you can get all the shift levers and the centre panels and cover as this will save you a lot of time and hassle
