I've got a 60 series, and when ever i go out and need to aggressivly steer, the power steering fluid is sprayed all out under the bonnet.
Should I overhaul the unit, i got a quote for almost $500, or should i consider putting a bigger unit in say out of a ford?

hi Allanm

mate i would find where the leak is first. the system should be able to handle the pressure and if the relief valve lifted it should dump back to the resevoir not over the engine.

have you got the factory manuals that show you how to over haul the system.
and i dont mean the haynes type i mean the toyota factory manuals.

Hey Gra

From the looks of things the leak is spraying out under the resevoir.

I dont have the factory manuals, only the gregory's. Do you know where i might be able to get the toyota manuals from?

Regards,

Allan

"From the looks of things the leak is spraying out under the resevoir"

Most likely the O ring that seals between resovoir and pump housing.
There is a kit available for about $40 and I paid about 2.5 hours lab to fit it.
If you need moving parts replaced it will be more.
I think you maybe able to do better than $500
