We traveled these roads around 10-13/05/2004
and all there open and in good nick
Also try-ed to go up the Birdsville track around the same time in 2001 and it took 1 hour to travel 30 k's on the track and we only went that far to find somewhere to turn around (the sign said open to 4WD WITH CARE)
They should be ok but check
We phoned the Maree police station at Port Augusta before we left and the cop who answered the phone was at Port Augusta?????? he told as the track was open
so 12 Hours later we got back to Port Augusta

Indeed re the above Rob - while often still a bit warm up there, the roads should be great - a bit of rain though and anything is likely. Check the SA Roads page at VKS737.on.net for the latest - then ring the Innamincka store or maybe the Police at Leigh Creek for the latest.
