Hi Guys,

I have a thru glass GSM antenna I want to install in a VT Crumbledoore and was thinking of mounting it in the middle at the top of the back window but have noticed that there is a painted border around the glass. I was wondering if this would antenuate the signal? If I put it lower down then there is the demister. Maybe I should put it on the front window?
What do we think?

Hi,

If your windscreen is tinted, as most of them are, then that is no good either!
Tinting often contains aluminium.

I have a VT Commonwhore and have the same antenna installed in the centre of the windscreen at the top. It works fine and there is no wind noise.

I would stay away from the rear windscreen for the reason you have stated.

Cheers

G'day Leroy,

The 'painted' area on the rear window of your VT is fine for your on glass antenna.

Trust me, I've been installing mobile phones for 18 years!!!

Cheers,
Mark.
