A friend’s local mechanic says, ‘Your transmission in your GQ has collapsed.’ I don’t exactly know what he means by this, but the mechanic says he needs a new one.

What I know is that when he selects reverse or drive (also 2 or 1) nothing happens. Nothing engages and it revs like it’s in park. Whether it’s just the selector or all the teeth on the gears have sheared off I don’t know.

What I’m looking for is a recommendation of someone in the Dandenong area for a second opinion or somewhere to pick up a reconditioned transmission cheap.

Thanks in advance.
