Hi all
We own a HJ 60 LWB and while in the R gear we bounce when reversing, if that makes sence, jumps ! So I'm thinking the clutch may be getting on.
Whats it worth for a kit and can this be done at
home with out going to a mech is possable.

How many K has it done, towing or non towing ? Any evidence of slipping i.e. the motor revs increasing but the speed doesnt go up?
I replaced my HJ60 clutch at around 240K. It's a real challenge unless you know exactly what you are doing. Those things are heavy ( need chains, iron bars etc).
Its a long time ago but Toyo wanted $1200 to do the job, I got a clutch kit from Repco for around $350.
But I swore that next time I'd save up and pay someone else to do it :))

Dad was towing a 40 ft van a couple of year's ago around aus, now it just pulls a 15ft boat.
It's been bouncing for quiet some time now, we dont do alot of driving with her. it's also go that 3rd gear crunch, its been like that since i can remember 4 to 5 years now at lest.

I had the clutch replaced on my HJ61 at 230k.
Cost me around $850 at my local 4wd mechanic.

I'd sooner pay that than do it myself again....but I'm no mechanic.
