darling river run

we are planning to do the darling river run in july school holidays five families with children in four wheel drives and caravans (off road) from menindee lakes north any tips or infromation would be appreciated thanks from rossbarb

We did the same run in 2003.Followed the river on the Sth Eastern side from Menindee to Bourke.Beautiful country but very dry when we went through.All our camps were on the banks of the Darling and were perfect.
About the only thing to say is take your time and have a great time.

Make sure you take a divining rod with you to find water as it's pretty dry out here. If you do find running water tell us, but don't tell the irrigators.
Yes its a good run and take your time. A lot of the time you camp on private property so do the right thing and be discreet.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Thanks everybody for the info do you have any suggestions to what is must see or do out in that area I tend to be the designated organiser for our trips as a group I sometimes feel that i should start a tag-along but this is what you do for friends thanks again for the help God bless
