Strong rumours that all the fishing access tracks around Wologorang, Hells Gate, Escott Lodge are closed.
Also that the campgrounds at Escott and Wollogorang are closed.

Anyone have any current reliable info on this?

Regards
Bob

Bob,

I only know about Wollogorang. The whole place has been closed down. No beach access, no camping and no fuel. If you contact them they will send a fax with all the information. They did not state a reason forthe closure. Hells Gate is still open Did not hear about Escott.

Regards
Ross

When I was there last year all they did was winge about people not buying their fuel. It was the dearest we had paid across the gulf and turned out to the dearest for the whole trip. The managers at the time made it pretty obvious they had a great dislike for tourists. Didn't think much of the place anyway, sure you had access to the beach but wasn't any better than anywere else.

Isn't there a place out of Borraloola that you can access the next strip of beach up from Wologorang?? Emu Plains, or Emu something. Heard it was $300 per vehicle for as long as you want to stay. Maybe someone on this site knows of it.
