Sorry to bring this old subject up again but we are looking at buying a CF18. I have already had my CF50 lid replaced with the new lid but are ALL waeco CF lids prone to warping. Is there an upgraded lid for the CF18.

One last question, of the people whos lid warped on the CF50 did you have the insulation cover on?

Thanks for any help

Well, I wasn't gonna worry about this, but here we go......

I bought a CF18 in December.

Lives in my Bedroom, and used to be left switched on all of the time.

The whole outer case has like just imploded! Like when you did the experiment with steam & a tin can.

Fridge still works, but it's all warped. The guy I bought it from told me to take it back.. Why? I will only go through it again.

Next fridge WILL be an ENGEL!!!! I don't care HOW much it will cost......

What is the equivalent Engel model? It has to have a handle and be a similar size to the cf-18

Ian old boy,

What did you expect the fridge to do? The sight of you in action in the bedroom would make me do more than implode LOL.

"Fridge still works, but it's all warped". What, more warped than your bedroom antics?

Cheers,

Jim.

Jim,

That's a scream.

It puts a whole new meaning into what is a fair and reasonable warranty claim hey???

Scott.

At the time of purchase, the Engel was 3 litres smaller, but had a larger outside footprint.

The deciding factor however, was price. There was $400.00 difference.

I use the Waeco for just myself, and it is not a chore to load it into the rear of the Honda.

I cannot recall as to wether the Engel had a handle.

Lone Wolfe, how do you know you will only have the same problem again if you never take it back.

It's a shame you feel strongly enough about the product to bag it here but don't feel strongly enough to give Waeco a chance to fix it - which I am sure they would do.

If you can't be bothered sorting it, don't bother bagging it IMHO.

...also, any chance of some piccies - finding it hard to picture a fridge 'implosion' in my mind LOL, never did the steam and can thing - but shrank many twistie packets on the heater!
