Hi All,
I am planning to travel to
Cape York again in June this year.
This time a couple of mates want to come along so I am looking for a decent four wheel drive for them to hire (why I get the job I'll never know)
I have all recoevery gear under the sun so really just need a car thats up to the challenge.
Ive done a search on the internet and found a few of the more expensive companies just thought someone might know of a small budget operator or individual with a vehicle for hire.
We will need it for about three weeks.
Cheers

Friends of
mine searched last year when we went up and ended up with 4wdhireservices, for a "hose out" 100 series. Had no problems at all. They were (in their search) the only ones that didnt restrict where they could go - pretty sure the guide is if its on a hema map its ok.
They paid about $170 a day, but that included everything from the tent on top , fridge, appliances ect.

Couldn't speak highly enough of 4WD Hire Service. We flew
Brisbane to
Cairns and collected a 100 series with roof top tent from their depot (next to the airport). We travelled to
Cape Melville, Chilli Beach and
Punsand Bay- all fairly wild and demanding tracks. They contacted me a couple of weeks before departure, asking if I had any items I'd like them to take up to
Cairns in a vehicle being delivered
Brisbane-
Cairns. They took fridge, gas cylinders and some other bulky items that couldn't go in the aircraft, and even brought them back to
Brisbane afterwards- no charge. They also fitted a UHF and supplied an extra wheel.
We managed to damage a rear door towards the end of the trip- "no worries - here's a brand new HiLux for the remaining few days around Cairns" (RACQ Ultra took care of the accommodation, because we couldn't continue camping- another excellent service)
So my advice is: forget the others and go to 4WD Hire Service.
No I don't work for them!!!

I know that the owners of Noosa Offroad, a 4WD outlet in Noosaville may have a vehicle available after next week.
It is a very capable 4x4 owned by the father of one of the owners who is going OS and they are thinking of selling the rig.
Is is
well set up with roof top tent etc.
Try Emma on (07) 5455-5218
I will seeing them on Tues and will mention that I have passed on there phone number.
