I was talking to a bloke while at a 4wd comp last week who said he worked for Holden and he was saying that Izuzu are opening up their own dealers in Aust for passenger cars. That is why the Jackaroo and Frontera are not being sold by Holden now because they want to sell them under their own name. I asked about the Rodeo and he said something about contracts and stuff. Anyway he said that Izuzu, when open will bring out the Frontera, by different name, back out here but this time it will also have a 3.0 litre turbo diesel in it. I reckon this would be great as the wife loves here Frontera but I hate the fuel bill and I reckon oilers are the way to go.

Has anyone else heard anything about this and if so any details.

I read about this six months ago on an official Isuzu website. It said that Isuzu was severing its ties with GM and they would market their cars themselves. Isuzu was still (at the time) selling a rebadged GM 4x4 as an Isuzu Ascender but was not really marketing it. Just waiting out their contractual period. This was North American info but you would think it is a world wide thing. It also said thy were getting out of the 4x4 business and focusing on cars and trucks. There was talk of the Rodeo being sold off to Suburu. Whether that is our Rodeo ute or the Rodeo wagon (Frontera) in the States I don't know which.

This is a quote from 'Wareagle' on OutLimits. I thought it was funny.
"Basically, they suck. They are about a foot longer in wheelbase. They sit a couple of inches lower. The inline 6 has awesome torque, but chasis is more of a cruiser. They come w/ all wheel drive and 4wd. You'll be disspointed. We call the Isuzu version the "ass ender". I won't specify reason, but we felt screwed when Isuzu replaced the trooper w/ such a piece of crap."
