Just had a visit from the Police (again!!) who have advised that this season Sat Phones and Parks Passes will no longer be issued from the Police Station in Birdsville. You can drop phones off and purchase your DPP from the Wirrarri Information Centre in Birdsville from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (unconfirmed yet). Should you need to book a phone ring the girls on (07) 46563300. You can't miss the Wirrarri Information Centre - it's the building beside the incredibly green oval.
Desert Parks Passes are available at the service stations as well.

They are also available here before you go and to help you with your trip planning as there are several maps and information booklets included. See Desert Parks Pass in the Shop

I got mine from EO with a start date if 280305 and I am glad I did, another thing not to worry about and you already have the maps and info books (which are excellent) to do all your planning. Oh and Juliana in the shop is very helpful and a great asset to the EO shop.
