Might cruise to some remote
Kimberley location and do a spot of Barra Fishing.
New Toy - Great idea Wolfie, might have to go and buy a new rod and reel just for the occassion. The old ones become so boring after a while! Thanks for the inspiration.
Cheers

Still nice and warm in
Kununurra? Aren't the barra biting at the barrage?
Still, there are lots of nice
places to disappear to up there. Must go back some day.

G'day Willem,
Yep still nice and warm, sticky in fact as the sun does it's best to suck the 10 inches of moisture back out of the ground TC Ingrid dumped on us last week.
Barra have been a bit quiet just lately due to the lack of rain up until last week. Should be good this weekend though, just have to be careful of the boggy bits going to and fro.
How long since you were up this way Willem?
Cheers

G'day Mike,
yeah I'm looking forward to it. I am a West Aussie living in NSW, have never been 4bying in that part of Oz, although have done nearby in Kosciuszko NP while fire-fighting in Dec 2003. Any track closures that you came across Mike? I am trying to piece together some
treks using the Deddick-
Delegate 1:100 000.
Looking at the BOM site, think I'll have ambient temp,
home brew stout, and some port for the later hours. I hear there may be some Vic Nissan Clubbies there heading that way also.
Enjoy your
Easter bbq and good luck with the new bird.
Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy
Didn't come across any track closures but keep in mind that a fair section of the
Snowy River NP is Wilderness Area (might not be shown on all maps) and the tracks going into those have locked gates on them. I have the TumAus map CD so have all this area at 1:25000 - feel free to e-mail me if I can help with info.
Weather wise: we spent one night at 1200m and had hail, rain and high winds and a low of 2C. I would not pay much attention to the forecast for the High Country as the weather can be very local and change without warning. Take clothes and bedding for temps from freezing to 30C!
I had to clear a couple of trees from tracks after the windy night so would be worth putting in a saw/axe.
>good luck with the new bird
What was the line in the Fleetwood Mac song:
"Women: they will come and they will go...." :)
Have a good weekend - pack the camera :)

Give me a wave if you see me, will be on channel 10 UHF as
well as the club channel.
Hmmm!!!
Kimberley beats the High Country,
well I will just have to take your word for it as I have not made the
Kimberley as yet. LOL.
I think a few clubs and groups will be about, typical long weekend.
Although I was up Davies Plains /
Tom Groggin a fortnight ago and hardly a soul in existence (No Long weekend in NSW) magnificent.
Mike H now that would have been interesting ;P) LOL.

Well I have a heavy weekend coming up.
Going to the
York Peninsula to fish for
garfish, whiting, tommy ruffs and will dangle the net over the side hoping for some bluey's. (crabs)
Got a new beaut "flip-n-easy" folding boat trailer to run-in and haven't worked out where to attach it on, or in the Camper trailer yet.
And, I got some new red that I haven't tried before, so it's going to be a weekend of discovery.
Oh! - the pressure's getting to me already:-)))

New toy.
I am in the process of insulating the Coaster with R2.5 GreenStuff Batts.
If you know anything bad about them, don't tell me as they are 80% in now.
I opted for polyester.
I took some pics but before I did we had to put this thing in the camera called 'film'?
I believe they will make the bus quieter, meaning, Heidi won't be nagging about the cold. Lol.

Hi there Mr Wolf,
Well I'm doing the Queensland version of
the beach front - going to Frazer with a couple of mates. Now it aint private but it might as
well be.
It will actually
test a range of new toys ( an accumulation of the last 6 months or more), diff locker, GPS, fishing gear, laptop, power and water systems for the trailer and the jimmy thunder box. This a stage one trial run for our extended trip to
Kimberley in July (common July).
Kind regards
PS I presume you need the camo hide to photograph the
Easter Bunnie?

just about the first time i have heard the EP mentioned on this
forum. Spend many a wayward weekend at
venus bay and surrounding areas. place would be a bit different now from when we would sneak occross the farmers property from the old
venus bay road to access dolphins beach for salmon fishing.
Talia beach one of the few
places where yu can catch 22pld snapper from
the beach and the nearby ledge which was one of the best
rock fishing platforms on the EP. Best spot for whiting off the jetty is 5-10 metres past the t section and cast to the right parrallel to the T peice (dont get them off the t peice for some reason)

Augusta and surrounds. Weather looks ok at tis stage but
easter has a way of raining here in the West.
New Toy - After 12 years driving Rodeo 2.8 TD's have bought the family a Terracan CRDi. It will be nice cruising along with the music at a normal volume rather than flat out trying to drown out the diesel clatter.
Cheers

SWMBO has arranged a weekend camping with a couple of other families from our street.
Major exercise getting the streets bikes packed into my trailer, so I'm putting my full length roof rack on top of the trailer gates (because I store it off the cruiser to get into the garage and it's just easier to stick it on the trailer than risk scraping paint off the high cruiser roof) and will be using my Michelle's Sacs RacSac for the first time.
Also taking my Codan portable HF for it's first tryout on VKS. Whisky 4486
And we'll be sleeping on new folding beds with air mattresses built in. OzTrail brand I think.
I'll take my R&R beadbreaker, but hopefully won't need to use it. Posing value only where we're going, but I've gotta win this comp with four new toys surely!! And because I want to be fair to everyone else, I won't include my aux fuel tank, cos although it's in the vehicle, it's not actually being used, so I won't include it on the list. :-)
All toys bought for our Simpson trip in July and whatever comes after that.
Then after an ardous 110km trip to
Toodyay east of
Perth, we unpack it all and get around to knocking off a few homebrew stouts from Greymouth.
Tim
