Hope they have improved from being "Hard riding little buzz boxes" (to quote a 1980's advert). Have never been interested in them, probably due to my size and their reputation on being hard on the kidneys.

They're quite comfortable if the setup is right. I'm very happy with mine....setup by previous owner. Maybe there should be a work or play option from the factory.

Sorry Ray, I didn't mean to be nasty towards your truck. Its just that I am tad large for a Hilux :o)

You have nothing to be sorry for Willem. I don't become emotionally attached to vehicles or any particular make, I don't tend to keep them long enough....well maybe a soft spot for Fords but that's because I work for them :) I believe there is truth in what you said but with a tickle here and there and some weight in the back they become quite comfortable, can't do much about the size though. Have a happy Easter old boy.

Yes, I was rather dissapointed when I took one for a test drive in 2003. Very rough in the back end, wishy washy in the front and not as much grunt as the Navara.

Mate I'm thankfull that your rig IS so BIG. You saved me some damage out Yellowdine when you lost half the troll on tree branches, cleared a nice clean path for the little surf! ;-)))

I was actually out at yellowdine again on Friday night, camped out there with the family. Steph's first camping trip went well. Then we headed into Kal to see some of Bec's family and tried the surf out around some of the local tracks.

Lookin forward to the bush cook up! All looks good for Pemberton!

Hi Jeff M
Had a look at a single cab ute today, very impressed with the fuel consumption figures on the windscreen 8.5 litres per 100kys on turbo diesel, a friend has test driven one off road & on a test track at the back of the gold coast, in his opinion probably more capable off road then the model it replaces, on the black top much smoother with speed & acceleration much like your average 6cylinder petrol ute.
