Gday,
Hopefully one final ?
I got hold of UHF CB to shove in the van as my am cb has been pretty quiet lately.
So what is the correct chanel usage nowadays?
Caravanners etc are suppose to be on either 18 or 20 i think.
Any info would be great.
Happy
Easter everybody.
Cheers

We use mainly ch40 cos most others are on it. If it gets too crowded we drop down one or two cos sometimes morons with bad manners can hijack a conversation and for some reason we are supposed to find it funny. HMMPPH. But no different to CB in that regard !!
We have met some good people on the road, just by them cutting in, cos we tend to talk a lot on our UHF when on the road. Usually they ask about our vehicles or where we're off to.
Have avoided an accident or two as
well.

We use 40 - the truckies and the highway channel. Have 40 on back of our caravan, so someone approaching from behind can let us know they're coming. Helps with local knowledge if in tune with the truckies.

Thanks for the info,
It seems that some Motorhome Organizations are suppose to be using Ch 20 as there channel as
well.
So I guess I will just program the CB to scan the appropriate chanels mainly,18,20,40,5,11.
Hopefully then if someone gives me a holler because I am not going fast enough for them or just to say hi I should hear them somewhere.
Cheers

The 4wd clubs use ch10 in the main, therefore a good idea to put this in your group scan.
