Mucking around in the shed today I decided to make one of those pigtail type fluro light holders for my ARB adventure light. But while deciding on the type of mount to have,I thought I'd go one better. On the end of pig tail holder I welded a ball(built it up and ground it back),then got an alligator clamp from a set of old jumper leads and useing the crimps on the clamp,I clamped these around the shaft so the pigtail holder can pivot around 360deg while the ball end stops it slipping out of the crimp, now I can clamp the light to just about anything ,vertical or horozontal.Saves looking for a "SKYHOOK" all the time.

sounds interesting Nick, I have an offset magnet on one of
mine which is particularly useful with most metal surfaces. I have a couple of smaller battery clamps so will see what I can redevelop.
I was looking for a way to hang a Robocan a little while ago too, it could work for that. Indoor one in the tent/camper area seemed to work reasonably
well with insects.

had to buy it Nick and only works on steel surfaces, where a clamp would work on canvas or even a wog pole.
