Hiya

Just purchased an Techni-Ice box (yet to be delivered) on the net. It's an 80L. Did I make the wrong decision? ie should I have bought Evacool, Tropical, DownUnder etc? Only paid $175 new with 60 bucks worth (apparently) of trademark ice packs.

Anyone got the Techni-Ice box?

It might pay to search the archives and read yourself.
Ice boxes, fridges, freezers blah blah blah...

I "I", think that if it keeps your food cold and "you", are happy, You bought well.

Before you go camping or anything, give it a test at home by trying to keep cold the food from your fridge. It's better to not 'guess' with your food. You really want to know it's limits. Especially if you go somewhere remote.

Always. ALWAYS. ALWAYS!! Did I say ALWAYS!!! place COLD food or drink in it, and they will keep cool longer. ie... Dont use it to cool stuff down.

Happy travels

They are ALL better then your standard Esky.

I think the Tropical's etc , are around that price anyway.

I dont think you necessarily got a huge bargin , but I dont think you have done your dow either.

Damo,

I recently bought one of the "no name" brands (kookaburra, loud green $170) and used it over easter fror the first time, I did what several people suggest on here and filled various bottles of water and froze them in the freezer and used them in the "Kooka" instead of ice worked an absolute treat as iM has suggested use your fridge at home to cool everything first b4 throwing them in the new box and you'll be rapt in the performance

Thanks Browny

I'll definitely do the o'l block ice - food/beer - servo ice trick. I'm fishing the Goobragandra River for a week during the ANZAC weekend. I'll give it a go them. I'm sure the cooler weather will help.

It would be interesting to see how the cheepos perform at Stockton during summer packed the same way.

Hi
You have got to love the Techni-ice box, I recon it's better built than the tropical or kooka and the tech -ice gear rocks if you got it included in the deal.
