Hi All,
Going for a bit of a trip which includes simpson from west to east (June). I have heard that the
Oodnadatta police no longer hire out sat phones, due to a change of company that supplies them. Anyone out there know of anywhere in
Oodnadatta that hire's them and can still be dropped off in
Birdsville?
Cheers,
Mick.

There was a post in the past week or so but I think it was only for EPIB 's not Sat Phones. Thease could be picked up in
Oodnadatta and dropped of at the National Parks in
Birdsville.
Give Ruth at the
Birdsville Caravan Park a call.

Hi Mick
I just spoke with the
Oodnadatta Police, and it seems that the new sat phone company is dragging its feet getting set up here. The Police don't know which company it is, so they can't find out when they'll get more phones. At this stage the plan is to transfer the hiring of sat phones to the
Pink Roadhouse, as that will be far more accessible to travellers (the Police Station is often closed for days at a time). So we have to wait and see when the hire company gets their act together.
Cheers

Pyalong, I have a sat phone for hire, $40 a week, plus call costs. Drop me a line if you are interested. It can be delivered to your door and sent back from
Birdsville if you wish?

I did a post of this about two weeks ago - wonder why it doesn't come up in cross-reference?

Hi Ruth,
Yeah I know you did...tried to find it myself, but didn't do any good. I remembered about the change in
Birdsville, but had no Idea who would be at the
Oodnadatta end.
Cheers,
mick.
