Hello out there looking fo some info please, can you fit a 5L engine into a hilux in place
of the old 3L and would you have to change the gearbox and or the diff ratios any info
would be handy.

I'm pretty sure marks 4wd adaptors have kits for these ,I not to sure about the hilux diffs though maybe a bit weak hear lots about people breaking them with v8s etc not so much power that kills them but the torque especially in low range ...

I assume that by 5L you are referring to the Toyota engine prefix and not 5 litre V8?

I think Desert asked a valid question, I was also under the assumption you intended to replace a 3 litre engine with a 5 litre V8. I noticed GQPAT made the same mistake.
Don't assume all forumites are aware of what you are talking about or perhaps word your question so that everyone is aware of what you are talking about.

If your talking just 2.8 out and 3.0 in, then diffs should not need to change.
