Yes it can.

Caveat-

The SmartSt software installed on the Navman PiN will hog the port and not allow other software to access the port. I found it easier to delete SmartSt than to fool around with the NavMan settings, but it is possible to leave SmartST installed and turn off the GPS using a procedure that I no longer have.

Yes we do it and have SmartSt on, you just have to turn smartst off before going into oziexplorer and visa versa, works very well with us only problem we have is getting maps that aren't 100 years old, some maps are that old you have to use WGS66.

Baz, does the pin have any trouble recovering the port once Oziexplorer is finished with it? I tried to run both on mine and it would not let the Smart ST software have the port back.

Guys,

I have the Navman PIN using SMartST (latest version), Oziexplorer CE with australia wide map from NATMAP all running at once with a 1gig card.

To run it all at once you just need GPS Gate (Franson), it creates virtual com ports so you can run many things at once.

I also run other freeware available from the net to show speed satellites and other diagnosis stuff, whcih convert the device into a real GPS with all the functions a GPS has.

One of the problems with it is that there is no way to reset the GPS, the GPS does not reset when you reset the device.
There are however many utilities from Navman etc to send a reset command to the GPS should you ever need to, then it does a cold start.

If you have one of the older models, there are firmware updates available too...

Excellent little package
