Hi All, A few weeks ago, I posted a question about access and the state of the DeGrey
Mullewa stockroute which we were intending to traverse, that is, at least the
Heritage Trail portion from
Mullewa. We just got back from our trip and am sorry to say the a mining company has gone in and blocked access to Tallering Peak, the
campground there and much of this
heritage trail. As the tourist infomation centre at
Mullewa is only seasonal and is closed we had trouble finding out the exact state of access in advance, but once in
Mullewa were able to ferret out a TIC volunteer who advised us not to bother with the trail as it wasn't worth doing anymore. The local tourist body has been trying without success to negotiate access with the mining company but at this stage, it isn't looking likely. Yet another trail bights the dust. Melissa
