Mmmm........... not good news.

This road is sort of okay, but as you get closer to the Oodnadatta Track there are some bulldust patches, which can throw you off.

This road is a good 80 kmh road in my opinion.

Thats probably one of the biggest problems Wolfie.
People doing 100km/h until a tyre gets cut or they hit a bulldust hole. Top heavy vehicles or excessive tyre pressures dont help either.

I remember getting up to 100kph (bit more I think) one time on the Gulf Road, it's a long and often boring road and there is a natural tendency to push the speed up on the good bits - then I thought _ bleep _ if I hit one of those potholes like the 700 I've already hit on this road but at 100+kph!!?? I'm a goner! So I slowed down.

I've always been a fast driver - I like speed - but I doubt there is a dirt road in Oz I would do more than 80kph on - no matter how good the surface is at the moment you never know what lies ahead and, even at 80kph, that may be too much to deal with.
