Hi all,
Woke up this morning and went to adjust the temperature on the fridge and the damn button is stuck. The fridge now continually cycles from low to high. The light display is impressive though. Luckily I was at
home and using the fridge to keep the beers cold.
I have not heard of this problem before with the waeco's. The fridge up until now has run perfectly, having had it for 18 months or so.
Cheers

Hi Ervin
Under the plastic temp setting cover there is usually a small pastic lug that activates the temp setting,it maybe sticking. I would take the control area cover of and have a look to see if it is that.Thats all it can be unless the whole control has gone and thats unlikely considering the age of the fridge

Thanks Norm I will have a look. I agree that it is unlikely the whole control has gone.
Cheers

Problem fixed!
It was as you stated Norm. Just a sticky lug.
Thanks for your assistance.
Have a good weekend.

QUICKLY !!
Drink the beers. Who really knows what's going on.
There's more at stake here than just a fridge control. That liquid gold needs to be dealt with first.
When are those people at Waeco gonna get it right?

Sorry to cause you distress iMusty. I should have explained that no beers were lost, all have been transferred safely to another suitable cooling device.

I'm sure EJ hopes it will happen in June/July again..when he can save all those beers again...without the worry of thinking his Waeco hasbleepitself..

Hey D & D,
My thoughts exactly. I would've just had to drink all your beer though so no big problem ;)
At least as Steve says I now know how to solve the problem.
Not long to go now till the big trip - my brother is no longer coming so I will be flying solo.
Talk with you guys soon.

sorry to be so late with this but I have not been on the
forum for a few weeks. Your story caught me eye and I thought I could update you. I have had exactly the same problem with
mine. I took it to a warranty place (that Waeco directed me to) and he fixed it. As soon as I said the problem on the phone he knew the fault straight away. "it is a design fault with the guage but once it's fixed it will never happen again". The button is just a bit too close to the metal contact. All he does is screw the metal contact away from the button a bit and presto it works.
Mine has been fixed ever since.
Even though it may have stopped now on your fridge it will occur again. Might as
well get it fixed whilst it is still in warranty.
