Ausco Trail'r Brak'r Control'r info

Hi,
I have an Ausco Trail'r Brak'r Control'r in my Troopy and it seems to have a fault. There is a row of ten red lights and the first and last of these are always lit. Using the override slider doesn't activate the brakes on the trailer; nor does the brake pedal. I don't have a manual, so I am at a loss as to diagnosing the problem.

Does anyone out there have a manual for this unit? I'd actually appreciate any information about the controller. I believe that these proportional units that take their input from hydraulic pressure are no longer common, but I understand they work better than the inertial units, so I am loath to replace it. Any opinions?
