Has anyone tried canoeing on the specific stretch of river that runs through Wonnangatta Valley? If so, are there any difficult sections? (none of the canoeing books mention the Wonnangatta River)

Drew have paddled from the
Dargo Road
bridge to the Final Fling on the
Mitchell over three days. There is quite a lot of flat water but a nice rapid or two into grade 2 - low 3. A little bit of lovely scenery though. Not paddled above the
Dargo Road though. Biggest on the
Mitchell was the
Amphitheatre rapid over about 300 metres at up to 3-4 grade, higher at high water if they get it again. Rain that is. Was about 16 years ago nearly anyway.

Drew the section through the Valley doesn't have any really big drops, mostly gravel races with standing waves.(grade 2/3) There are quite a few trees down in
places that would make things interesting if the river was high. The bit I'd like to do is from Herne spur down to
Eaglevale.
Cheers Craig.........
