Regarding the injector question for a TD42.... I have an aftermarket turbo fitted and i was wondering whether or not after the injectors are replaced does the fuel pump need to be re-tuned because when the turbo was fitted they changed the air-fuel mixture to suit how the engine was.... OR can the injectors just be replaced and things should be cool.???...

My fuel economy has started going to the weeds for the last year or so and more and more black smoke is coming out during normal gear changes and going up step hills..

Dear DukeAtty,

If anything replacing the injectors should reduce the fuel no increase it. If you are not happy with the performance of the vehicle after doing this maybe you could have a look at retuning the pump.

Cheers
