Hi guys, has anybody ever found elevation data for use on topographic maps, either for oziexplorer or memory-map?

Cheers

Hello - Best Australian data for use with OziExplorer 3D (you need the 3D add on - Oziexplorer by itself can not use the data) is available here...(not free I dont think)

GeoScience Australia DEM Data

I think there is free data available from other sources but it is very wide spaced - depends what you want to do with it.

If it's too much for you to download I can burn a CD for you. The 3 sec data is the best available.

Ulises,

I bought the Geoscience Australia 9 second DEM CD from the Map Shop in 2002 for preparation of my 2003 Carnegie Expedition. Integration into Oziexplorer was easy with the add on which had to be purchased. It gave me tremendous insight as to what was on the ground without having to leave the loungeroom. The ability to observe certain areas from any bearing and the ability to excentuate the elevation graphically was great.

With the 3 second DEM , what the other forumites are talking about, it would be much better.

Cheers
