Dear Rengatt
Some more information would be useful here. The normal way to calculate fuel consumption is to record the number of kilometres travelled and the number of litres used. You then divide the litres by the number of 100km covered to express fuel use as Litres per 100km. For example my GU 3.0Tdi Patrol uses about 11.7l/100km on a trip and around 14.4l/100km when towing the camper trailer.
Hope this helps.
Peter

Hi Peter,
I am trying to work out the litre/per100km figure. The figures I have are 560kms on 62.3 litres of fuel. I don't know how to convert these figures to litres/per100km
cheers

Dear Rengatt
Divide 62.3 by 5.60 (the number of 100kms)
This gives you 11.13 L/100km
Not bad consumption. What are you driving?
Cheers

Driving a Frontera 2001 model, it was the first real trip for it and we were loaded to the hilt. I have to admit that I had a good run and it was in cruise control mode for about 90% of the trip which would have helped the consumption.
Thanks for you help with calculating the usage.
Cheers,
Ren

G'day Rengatt,
If you go to Members/FileSwap/Petrol Consumption Calculator there is an excel sheet with a couple of spreadsheets for working it out

If you want to calculate MPG work out your fuel usage in L/100km. Then divide 282.48 by L/100km.

As previously mentioned,
Check out the downloadable files that are now available in the Members File swap page. There are a few interesting files for download and there FREE.
