Why is it that at Jaycar a 12 volt car plug in shower is $19.95, at
Ranger Camping (on special) $29.95 and yet at a 4wd store in the southern suburbs of
Perth it is $45.00.The shower is exactly the same in all 3 stores and yet the price difference is huge.
One has to wonder are we being taken for a ride by certain companies? as I find some relatively simple pieces of 4wd equipment very expensive for a country that has self proclaimed world leaders in the 4wd market.

West Australians believe that the eastern states dont exist,,, at least they are told that. So they think they can charge what they like!!!!!

I don't quite understand the logic of how this reply fits the original question??
Being a Sandgroper myself may have something to do with mt scepticism.

Hey lighten up guys, it was meant as a joke,,,, I remember a few years ago in WA, i saw a post card showing WA as the main part of OZ an the rest was in red. It said just that, printed on the eastern states "largely unexplored.". Obviously designed by a West aussie.. Fairly obvious that a sense of humour is not a big thing over there, Michael

go and import the shower units.
cost to you around im guessing $1-$2.
sell to boat owners $20.
sell to campers $25.
add the word 4wd $40+.
we 4wd owners are dumb(except me lol) we pay what ever they want us to pay and guess what ............ we do.
cheers

You'd think they'd be worn out by the time the 4WDers get them.

It has always been said but sometimes we fail to obey...pays to
shop around....
spur of the moment shopping prevents this though....just ask me....i get caught often enough......I Want That....its a must have..you all know what i mean.

world leaders my arse. Particularly on the techno side of things there's at least a year's lag behind US/Europe.

Chances are it isnt the same unit, but similar...
I paid $25 for a coleman one.. I'd have it anyday over the cheap plastic Jaycar one.
YMMV

...and there sure is a lot of self evaluation. Gets embarrassing at times. "best at this best at that...". Point taken tho.
