Hi there folks.... just back from Fraser Island from the cleanup weekend.... a GREAT time was had by all, the cleanup was a success, the party was a success as well.... and we had the pleasure of leaving the place cleaner than we found it. We were still picking up stuff Wednesday morning!

(End of nice bit start of soap-box bit)

But coming down 28 mile beach to Noosa north shore, there were quite a few rubbish dump areas where the bins were overflowing.... so people just stacked their rubbish bags next to the bins, in front of the bins and behind the bins. Why couldn't they see that the bins were full and cart the rubbish home with them? That's what we would have done!
Birds etc were ripping these bags open and rubbish was everywhere!!

If you're reading this and you're one of the many who do/did this, then SHAME ON YOU!

You bring the rubbish in, you take the rubbish to the bin..... but if the bin is full....

TAKE IT HOME!!!!

How is that one attached, does it strap onto the tyre somehow? Where do you get them from, Iv'e seen the Southern cross one for $100 and the Michelles for $150. $65 sounds better.

Ok here goes a plug for a great company. Halls Canvas Goods. 58-60 cottage lane Hackham. Phone 83843117 Fax 83841010. The colours vary as they make them out of available seconds canvas. They attatch with 2 straps which can be criss crossed if needed. They come in 2 sizes too. Mine is the large and they told me the small is for narrow wheels. The pic is of Muddy's which is on a 17inch prado rim but the same size bag fits snugly on my 31.10.5.15's. I put mine on before leaving and even used it to store a few things in until i made room in the car lol. Only comment is it will suck dust. But hey...its only rubbish. They also made my roof rack bag which was custom made out of ripstop.(fanatstic) Hope this helps any interested people.

BTW, I found the ebay guys website.

http://www.infrontcampinggear.com.au/category8_9.htm

Before you go crazy bidding they only drop a couple of bucks for their ebay items vs their list price.

Hi Brian

Congrats on lending a hand - we could not make it this year due to house guests but have already penciled in 2006.

Job well down.

Paul...
Thanks mate... it's not a hard thing to do is it? And Fraser is a place that needs to be preserved, perhaps 4WD Qld should look at a Cooloolah Clean-up as well..
Gee it was a good weekend, the entertainment on Sunday night was by Annie Jeffs, a really good entertainer! And the atmosphere was fantastic!
See you at the next one!

Hi I use one of those 20lt plastic container with the big scewtop lid and bunge it under the back of the tray , the thick plastic keeps the smell in the animals out ,its easy to wash out and great for putting broken glass in that we always find at camp sites ,can be used to store water in if we ever had a leak in a main water container.
