Hiya,
Came accross a 1998 Pathfinder RX in what looks like very good nick at a reasonable price. It sounds and looks great, and has had one (private) owner from new with a FSH. Its offered with a 3 year AWN warranty. The main downside I can see is that its done nearly 210,000 kms. Its also a petrol which I hadn't been considering before seeing this vehicle.
For our needs it should be a suitable vehicle, though as we are hoping to do a lazy lap or two in it I'm worried about its fuel economy being a 3.3 V6.
So, whats the economy like?
How long do the engines last if they've been taken care of (from the logs this one has been taken care of).
What should I be looking at, and are there any other considerations if we are looking to take it on any long trips?
Thanks guys.
Tom.

Gday Tome
My mate has a petrol triton with 260,000K’s on it, and I know that ford 6 cylinder petrol’s will do 300,000k’s plus.
Just give it a good
check over first, oil seal’s, diff/gear box noise, oil on spark plugs or exhaust smoke on start up, 4WD activation and obvious under body damage/ spray painting stuff like that.
If you know a good mechanic get him to go out to look over it also.
At 210,000 should be ok. If it is a auto
check for ruff changing and if it holds onto gears/ Takes time to go into reverse.
Extended warranty how can you lose (:

Howdy,
Try posting your query here:
http://thrsolutions.com.au/pcoaforum/index.php
- there are a few previous model Pathy owners on the
forum who will be able to assist.
BTW, one thing about the economy - it ain't too good :( but the Pathy does have other redeeming factors :)
