Guys, do yourself a huge favour and get educated on what makes your beast tick. There is no going back to the old days, it wont be long when 'points ignition' will get blank looks. There are suprisingly few sensors that a computer needs to run an engine. While there is a huge variation in the way that sensors operate between manufacturers, their function remains the same.
Even diesels these days dont run without ergratron control pumps.....
Become familiar with basic electronics and electricity. Then there wont be any reason not to look after your beast by yourself. After all, no-one is going to take more care of it than you!
Have a great day.......col

Firstly I'll say that I drive one of these "new generation" diesel engines, however, a mate of mine is an auto sparkie, and the thought of one of these vehicles having ECU problems when 30 k's up a beach or even on the CSR, scares the crap out of him.
