limited slip diff

Hi all,
Have a 96 diesel troopy HZJ75. How can I tell if limited slip diff is fitted ? or does this model have LSD standard >
Thanks for any advise.

Should be marked on compliance plate under bonnet - will have a code for LSD. If you have rear disc brakes, was generally a good indicator of being matched to LSD in this model of this age.

Jack it up in the rear so both wheels are off the ground.
Try to spin one side wheel forwards. If its hard to turn and the other side spins forward its LSD. If it spins easily and the other side spins in the opposite direction, its a single spinner.

Theres also a sticker near the filler plug that says LSD oil only. It will have an LSD - whether it still works is another question.

just do a wheel spin on a loose surface. If there is 1 track it is not. If 2 tracks it is.

Can also feel the diff bind up in a full lock turn on bitumen or concrete if it is a LSD. Just fully lock the steering and turn corner. If you feel a bumpy feeling coming from the rear end then it is a LSD.

Well its a 96 model, it aint Yota bashing, but they are usually from what Ive read here only good for 30-40,000klms tops and they are fubar - thats from new...
