Travelling to the Cape aboard Trinity Bay thus missing Jardine River ferry and its charges which include camping permits on aboriginal land. Should we do our camping at Somerset, Muttee Heads & Usher Point and just pay on our return ferry trip.

I may be wrong but when we came back across the ferry they didn't even check to see if we had a permit ( we did) as they probably have the peace of mind they get people on the way up. I wouldn't worry about it until they ask. It's a bloody ripoff anyway but cheaper than a new car and health/ life insurance. All the above camping areas are good. found a snake sleeping in one of the cannons at Somerset which was surprising.

Thanks madcow. We're happy to pay when we head south on the ferry - just didn't want to get a fine from the inginoo rangers if found north of the Jardine without one.
Looking forward to the trip

We went to the Cape last year & on our return journey over the Jardine they did ask for proof of payment. I understand that the fee is the same for one way or return,
Have a great trip
