Hi once again,

June long weekend I am heading off with friends to New England NP, in between Armidale and Glen Innes (NSW). There will be three 4wds and two 2wd vehicles.

Any recommendations for campsites accessible by 2wd and close to 4wd tracks (if any)?

Also I beleive there are trout in the streams up there but when does the season close is it after June long weekend?

It is going to be an action packed weekend as we are considering packing the mountain bikes - any good downhills that people know of to get the adrenaline flowing?

This weekend pretty much takes in all my current obsessions - 4wding, fishing, mtbing, and consumption of quality port.

Thanks in advance

EJ,

The end of queens b'day weekend is the end of trout season (actually thats the case in Vic anyway) also there are Murray Cod in the rivers and streams of the New England district, grab some spinner bates and cast them around also you might get a huge supprise............Good kama is to let all green fish go though.:-)

Cheers Browny,

I knew there were cod further north in the Clarence River, but I don't think they are in the area we will be camping in. Could be wrong though, have been before once or twice:)

Quick correction - New England NP is between Armidale and Grafton not Glen Innes.
