I read in a 4B mag that the Wollogorang operation on the Gulf Road has shut up shop and access to the coast is no longer. This is a bad thing.

Anyone with an insight into what's gone down. Is it permanant? Liability related or just $$?

Also see POST 22669. It has some more information on this. We can confirm Wollogorang is closed as we spoke to then some weeks ago.

The original bit I read was just a one liner in OL magazine. I just happen to look at a copy of 4X4 Australia (not as good) today and they feature an article on Wollogorang. Seems the conditions of the grog licence and having to bail out and rescue 4B's from the beach has spurred the decision.

As for the service or attitude, who cares. It only lasts a few minutes. The enjoyment of a week or two on their beach, fishing etc. makes it worthwhile. I've only been once but will miss knowing it's no longer an option for future trips.

It,s just as well as Inever got "good vibes" from that place and Ithink they are better off not dealing with the public.
