Does this sound a bit steep for a 9 month old phone. Ive told them you can get the phone for $1995 from Telstra with a plan or even less if I get the subsidy.
They arent prepared to budge as 9 months ago they paid $3200.

I'd pay the Xtra $95 and get the warranty and someone I can go back to direct and hassle if it does not work properly.
Id expect to pay only 60% of the current retail price for second hand.

Geez and I just noticed it was Ex Rental.
No way.
You are buying a sat phone for safety (I guess). Every one has abused it already.
Get NEW.

Do what the others did, rent one for your trip and have an extra weeks holiday with the money left over.

Deano,
Paid for a new 9505 yesterday, and with the subsidy, it cost $535. Freight is going to add a bit, don't know why I didn't get 'em to post it.
Being a rental, you wouldn't know how much abuse it'd had. Tell 'em to shove it.
Hooroo...

Hi all,
A friend up here walked into Betta Electrical and got their Sat Phone. Worth $2500 new and after Gov subsidy only paid $500 and that was over the counter. Her phone was cheaper than what I paid for my CDMA phone on the same day. And she got coverage almost anywhere compered to me.
