Hi Glenn, 6.2 mls to be precise. Lovely lovely sound - started drizzling about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Nice big bog hole about 50 klms east on
Windorah Road caught a few by surprise. Some good falls of rain around Longreeach,
Augathella and
Charleville. We were just on the bottom end of it - washed the dust off the leaves and smelt beautiful.

Hi Ruth, did you dance naked in it? I am surprised you remember what rain sounds, smells and tastes like. Good news that you recieved some rain at least, will drop the dust for an few hours at least anyway.
Cheers
Glenn

My rain gauge is stuck on a post high up and I have to climb the ladder (after finding it in the shed) and stand in a mud puddle to read the gauge. But, now, due to technological advances (even in
Birdsville) I get up turn the TV on - find Austar weather channel and push the button and lo, and behold, the automatic weather station built into the sand at the back of the airport, tells me that 6.2 mls have fallen. How good is that? When I read my gauge I have to take an average due to spiders, beetles and dead flies caught in the bottom - oh and the odd centipede.

It's not fair you guys get all the rain.
The total for 2005 in
Broken Hill is just under 13mm.
Another 6.anything would be fantastic down here.
