Does it go up without hesitation? Theres a plastic gear inside that craps itself regularly.

Had the same problem with my Ti, and tried many things, what fixed it was to remove the assembly completly and cut a thin piece of plastic sheet, around .25-.05mm to act as a packer under the mechanism. what happens is that the metal tabs on the winder part create a rounded edge on the plastic part, therefore it doesnt grip but slides out an keeps going round and round. By installing a lifting packer, it makes the metal tabs grip in the holes again.
sorry if this is a bit vague, going from memory.
